Ocean Reveries - Featured Photo for February 2013

My title comes from Melville. He suggests that the ocean calls us as deep unto deep, and before the ocean we lose ourselves in "ocean reveries."

Here the Gulf of Mexico off the beach at Port Aransas invites us to lose ourselves in its depths as mighty waves roll on into eternity.

"Ocean Reveries" as a 20"x30" canvas print is the lead photograph of eleven in my show by the same title at the Old Bakery and Emporium on Congress Avenue one block south of the Capitol in Austin. The show was hung, along with the work of Donna Overly and Janis Langley, Thursday, February 7. Toward the end of the reception that evening "Ocean Reveries" sold.
